The Deputy Minister’s Contractor of the Year Award was presented to a branch of Selkirk Paving Ltd. by the Minister of Transportation recently.
Interoute Construction Ltd. was responsible for 12 kilometres of road resurfacing between Elko and Fernie. The project, worth $5.5 million, was accomplished in four weeks. Tony Maida, operations manager of Interoute, was thrilled with the recognition, and attributed the success to his hard working, dedicated employees, admitting the project could not have been completed without their admirable performance.
The Kootenay communities live and breathe creativity, ingenuity, and talent. From the colourful summer markets of Invermere to the tailored boutiques in Nelson, it’s the people behind the scenes that make business in the Kootenays something to be proud of.
