The 2010 Mountains of Gold Golf Event is proud to announce that its summer-long golf event and season-ending million-dollar tournament are now fully endorsed by the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) of BC. Golfers are invited to play 3 premier courses, with 3 nights of luxury accommodation, all combined with the chance to win up to $1,000,000 in a season-ending tournament.

“We at the PGA of BC have a responsibility to help grow the game of golf and support our members in Western Canada,” said Brian Butters, Executive Director of the PGA of BC. “This event is not only unusual in its structure, it also sums up a lot of what golf should be about: golfers having fun, being challenged on outstanding courses, and enjoying the hospitality of a PGA-endorsed event.”

“Ultimately we see this event as a way to encourage golfers of all abilities, with a registered handicap or not, to come out and enjoy this spectacular Kootenay-Rockies region.”

All participants will have the opportunity to play world-class mountain golf courses, in an outstanding environment, enjoying the accommodation, the welcome of the region, as well as the excitement of playing for big prizes. The two primary courses, Shadow Mountain and St. Eugene Mission, are considered two of the most spectacular courses in the Canadian Rockies. Those interested in participating are invited to contact the Mountains of Gold Office Toll Free at 1 877 427 7847 or log onto www.mountainsofgold.com for more information.

The Mountains of Gold Golf event is a joint initiative between golf courses, accommodators and other service providers in the Kootenay Rockies region of British Columbia, and is being managed by Wildhorse Event Management. A charitable legacy is being established to support youth in the region and in addition Mountains of Gold is pleased to support the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, and Alberta Cancer Foundation.
