The Career Connections career fair will be held at Fernie Senior Secondary School
Mark Tuesday, April 8, on your calendar. That’s the date of a new career fair called Career Connections that will be taking place at Fernie Senior Secondary School designed for the entire Elk Valley and organized by Kootenay Business magazine (www.kootenaybiz.com).
This informative event will run from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the gymnasium of Fernie’s high school.
Career Connections/Career Fair is open to high school and college students who are interested in exploring new employment and career opportunities which are in demand in today’s competitive marketplace.
“The target market is both current high school and colleges students, who will be looking for a career in the near future, as well as those who are wondering about which careers they should go into for the best opportunities in employment and advancement,” said Keith Powell, Kootenay Business magazine publisher.
“There will a number of key employers and their representatives with display booths at the Career Connections/Career Fair, as well as several community employment and service agencies who can inform students and jobseekers about the opportunities and services they have available,” Powell continued. “Some of B.C.’s and the region’s largest employers have confirmed their attendance including Interior Health, College of the Rockies, Nohels Group, the RCMP, and a number of other leading employers.”
The Career Connections/Career Fair will also benefit employers and professionals who will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with the Elk Valley’s student population, as well as taking the opportunity to promote future careers in their fields to these students.
Kootenay Business magazine is pleased to work in co-operation with the Fernie High School and College of the Rockies to promote their programming and help the region’s employers and businesses to connect with potential future employees.
