It is said that the secret to real estate is location, location, location. The developers behind the new Sable Ridge resort in Radium Hot Springs are certain that they are in on that secret. Lesley Baker, Director of Marketing at Sable Developments is unreserved in her praise of the region and its prospects. “There are four seasons of world class leisure opportunity in Radium,” said Baker. “It’s only a two and a half hour drive from Calgary and when you arrive there are hot springs, hiking, biking, a well-developed lake and several world-class ski destinations. “Plus,” she added, “the climate is absolutely lovely.” Sable Developments was originally a Calgary-based developer that focused mainly on urban conversions and architectural upgrades, but moved into recreational property development three years ago. Sable Ridge, in Radium, is its first property. Construction will begin soon on their second property on Mara Lake near Sicamous. Response to the Sable Ridge resort homes has been tremendous, according to Baker. Phase one of the project is sold out, with the second phase already 60 per cent sold. Baker anticipates that homes from the third and final phase will sell quickly. Sable Developments takes special pride in the design of each unit it sells. Special attention is paid to the details featuring contemporary-rustic themes, rich colours, stone fireplaces and wood finishing throughout. The show suites, available on-site and in their Calgary location, have garnered a very positive response, but Baker says that the surroundings at Radium are essential to the property. The resort provides astounding scenery, as it is surrounded on three sides by mountains and is adjacent to The Springs golf course. “Location, location, location,” said Baker. “That’s the key to this place.”
