Trail Chamber under new direction The Trail and District Chamber of Commerce has hired a new executive director
On June 6, 2007, the Trail and District Chamber of Commerce announced the hiring of Carol Ann Pedersen to assume the role of executive director. The change in the top position at the Chamber of Commerce became necessary due to the retirement of long-time executive director Pam Lewin. Lewin held the position for the past nine years and has been a visible face in the community and a tireless promoter of the area.
Pedersen, a long-time Trail resident who recently returned to the area after a brief absence, was the successful candidate chosen from more than 20 applicants for the position. She holds a Bachelor of Administrative Studies degree and has a background in both large and small business.
“The board of directors of the chamber is extremely pleased to bring someone of Carol Ann’s quality into the position of executive director,” said Corey Sinclair, chamber president. “She has a perfect combination of experience that is really relevant to our members, and she understands the area in terms both of its opportunities and challenges. We all knew that it would be difficult to replace Pam, but the chamber is in good hands."
Pedersen will officially start in the executive director's position on June 18.
Located in Trail and representing businesses from Fruitvale to Warfield, the Trail and District Chamber of Commerce has 227 members. The Trail and District Chamber of Commerce exists to provide leadership in the growth of a progressive and financially strong community by assisting members in improving their competitiveness. More information about the chamber can be found at www.trailchamber.bc.ca.
