New hair school is wildly popular
A pilot project for a new hairstyling training school in Cranbrook, Wild about Hair, is taking off. The school came together through the collaborative efforts of the College of the Rockies, School District No. 5 and the Industry Training Authority (ITA) of B.C.

Finding the perfect job The potential for jobs is everchanging. From job shortages to economic booms, labour markets can shift drastically. The Kootenay Wage Subsidy Program is doing wonders for people who need assistance in finding employment. This regional program is administered through the Greater Trail Community Skills Centre and the Ashland Training Centre and operates in Trail, Nelson and Castlegar. The program is funded by Service Canada through employment insurance funds and it serves to support individuals who are or have been on employment insurance (EI) and need assistance in getting training and finding stable employment. It also rewards employers committed to creating ongoing employment for new employees.
