Matt Thompson is the creative director and principal of Story & Co., a Kimberley company that specializes in branding, writing, graphic design, web design, project management and strategy. The company is among the winners in Kootenay Business's 2011 Best of Business Awards. We sat down with Thompson to find out his story.

What does Story & Co. do?

We make good stories sound great, through advertising and branding.

How long have you been in business?

Over a decade.

What is your background?

I grew taller in the Kootenays and my background is in public relations and journalism.

What do you like about running your business?

Getting the chance to hear great stories, and assisting people in telling them best.

What is your favourite thing to do in Kimberley?

Put quarters in the cuckoo clock.

Do you have any other staff?

Three staff involved in project management, design, client liaison and communication.

Do you have any mentors?

Blair Enns is sharp, sharp, sharp. My workmates Andy and Deborah are blazes of brilliance.
